Mr. Kanayama was a vice president at Yoshida Kanayama Ishida & Associates from 1989 until 2002, handling international and domestic patent litigation, offering legal advice, and giving assistance in negotiations and license agreements. During this time he handled numerous domestic, foreign and PCT patent applications, and appeals for patent, as well as offering expert opinions, and intellectual-property-rights total service (from application to strategy and dispute solution).

Before joining Yoshida Kanayama Ishida, Mr. Kanayama worked initially in the design and development of mechanical and electronic watches at the Citizen watch Co., Ltd, in advance of moving on to patent management and domestic and international patent licensing and litigation for Citizen.
